Coming to a campus near you

On Tuesday, February 6, I will be speaking at Brown University on the topic of capital punishment and natural law.  Prof. James Keating will respond.  The event is sponsored by the Thomistic Institute, and details are available at the Institute’s website and at Facebook.

On Saturday, March 17, I will be presenting a paper on the topic “Cooperation with Sins Against Prudence” at a conference on Cooperation with Evil at the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C.  The other conference speakers will be Steven Long, Msgr. Andrew McLean Cummings, Christopher Tollefsen, and Fr. Ezra Sullivan, OP.

On Thursday, April 12, I will be speaking at Baylor University on the topic of capital punishment and natural law.  The event is sponsored by the Thomistic Institute, and more information will be forthcoming at the Institute’s website.

On Thursday, April 19, I will be speaking at Southern Evangelical Seminary on the topic of the nature of God.  Details forthcoming.

  1. Are you still scheduled to speak at the society of Catholic Scientists later this year?

    2. Wow! That is awesome. Go, Prof. Feser!

We Catholic scientists must speak up. In this age of default and thoughtless secularism and scientism more than ever.

Because, if people really do look up to the authority of scientists, as they so love to claim they do, then these same scientists ought to be at the leading front of the New Evangelization.

Why don't we hear about these arguments in favor of the existence of God and of the truth of the Catholic Faith before we become exposed to the dangers of modern pagan society? (Where were you, Prof. Feser, when I was having doubts? ;-)

These arguments are in fact so strong that it actually makes me angry how the Church hierarchy itself seems to have forgotten they even exist in the first place... and thus leading to their complete neglecting during catechization (for children and adults alike), which in turn helps to foster doubt among Catholics.

  5. When I saw the title of this post I was hopeful for a moment there that it would be slightly more closer to Sydney, Australia. Oh well, I'll just have to come to DC!

    1. Given the university's rather large philosophy department (and given the proximity to Halifax, PEI, and NB), I wonder if it wouldn't be possible to put an event on at St. FX in Antigonish and send Feser an invite? Who doesn't enjoy a visit to the Maritimes?
