Executions should not be livestreamed

President Trump has reversed the Pentagon’s recently announced decision to livestream the execution of Nidal Hasan.  He made the right choice.  While Hasan deserves capital punishment, it is immoral to make a vulgar spectacle of executions.  In an article at Public Discourse I explain why, drawing on insights from the Fathers of the Church and St. John Henry Newman.
