New from Editiones Scholasticae

Editiones Scholasticae, the publisher of my books Scholastic Metaphysics and Aristotle’s Revenge, informs me that both of them will within a few days be available in eBook versions.  Also new from the publisher is a German translation of my book Philosophy of Mind.  (Previously they had published German translations of The Last Superstition and Five Proofs of the Existence of God.)  Take a look at Editiones Scholasticae’s new webpage for further information, as well as for information about other new releases from the publisher.  You will find both new works by contemporary writers in the Scholastic tradition, and reprints of older and long out of print works in that tradition.  (The original webpage is still online as well.)

    1. Great news. Nice blog, by the way. Google translate did a good job at translating. I especially like you post on whether the mind needs a brain. Great summary of the case for immateriality of mind.

  2. I still like your comment that reading these will make us "black and blue." cf: www.classicaltheism.com/feser

    1. Hello John. Just wanted to say hello and give you a shout out. I am really enjoying the heck out of your podcast. You have interviewed some heavyweights. Dr. Feser, Fr. Brian Davies, Dr. Eleanore Stump, etc. Wow. Amazing, educational interviews -- and a fantastic resource for those interested in Classical Theism.

    2. Thanks, Tritium. One correction: I have not had Fr. Davies on the show, but he permitted us to use a paper of his and record the reading of that paper. It's a helpful dialogue he wrote on the Problem of Evil.

  3. This is great news. Have both in print edition, but definitely will get these in ebook format as well, so that I can do a keyword search. With that said, I must admit, Dr. Feser's books have pretty in-depth and comprehensive indices. By comparison, I am 3/4 of the way through Nigel Cundy's book "What is Physics". Very fascinating book...however, it suffers from an abysmal, half-assed index. I kid you not, it is only 2-pages. I have been pulling my hair out trying to find topics I have read previously in the book, and want to re-visit or re-fresh, but it is nigh impossible.

  4. Can you give us a rough estimate about when your book on the soul will be out?

  5. Still waiting for your reply to Dr. Cundy's criticism.

    1. Feser said in the first reply that it will be a series. Why are you so impatient?

  6. I partially credit myself for this because I clicked on Amazon's "tell the publisher you want this as an eBook" link dozens of times. I presume Editiones Scholasticae got tired of seeing all the eBook request spam from Amazon and finally caved.

  8. Should I assume that harassing you for this in the blog comments worked?

  9. Hopefully it's not that annoying PDF-style ebook Routledge and OpenStax have been using.

  10. God is bliss state (as the gurus say), not substance. (Cause and substance has only to do with the material). She created the world by the dying of her subconscious. There isno "essential cause". There are only events in sequence, spiritual

  11. I just bought both versions on Amazon. As someone with dyslexia, this is a life saver as it allows me to listen to the content using a screen reader. My ability to comprehend the content is drastically improved this way.

    Thanks again Dr. Feser.
