Mood enhancement

Hey, what’s with the long face? Looks like you could use a little pick-me-up. Try a dose or four of Soundscape UK: Here’s “Uptown Groovin’,” “Brand New Day,” “Round Trip,” and “Teapot.” I defy you to stay dour. (SURGEON GENERAL’S WARNING: Reading blogs involves significant risk of having some yutz impose his idiosyncratic tastes on you without warning, especially if he’s been too busy for a few days to write up a proper blog post and needs something to listen to while he tries to rectify the situation.)

  1. Just when I think you're some sort of conservative ideologue with no taste for culture you go and post something amazing like this.

  2. No taste for culture?! Didn't you see those comic book covers posted down below??

  4. My mood and overall morale has been crushed after learning that my favorite contemporary philosopher not only appreciates, but shamelessly appreciates characterless jazz muzak!

  5. Yeah, but Secret Wars II? It's no wonder that series didn't do well considering that the nearly omnipotent being also went by the name of "Frank" and dressed like he was going to a disco.

On another note, Dr. Feser, have you heard about Robert J. Spitzer, S.J.'s forthcoming book New Proofs for the Existence of God: Contributions of Contemporary Physics and Philosophy? It looks like something you might find interesting.

  6. Keith,

Muzak?! It's not like I linked to Kenny G or some such thing -- now that would be grounds for an existential crisis...

    T'sinadree,

A disco? Maybe. I would have said Russell Mael from Sparks:

But you must admit that Peter Parker gently explaining to the quasi-divine Beyonder how to go to the bathroom was comic book metaphysics at its finest. (That was deep, man!)

Hadn't heard about the Spitzer book -- I'll take a look.
