Same to you. Please say a prayer for me. I have suffered at the hands of some truly terrible 'Catholics' recently who pretend to be religious in order to get attention.
May God expose the evildoers who lie to cover their malice.
This comment is off-topic and anticipated apologies for derailing the thread -- I hope Prof. Feser will not block it; I don't think he will, given the content.
I have took the final steps to rejoin the Catholic Church (I say rejoin because I was baptized a Catholic as an infant) and can finally call myself a Catholic in good conscience. Belonging to the common stock of humanity, I am but a mere weakling, a coward, etc. and a number of special circumstances that I need not go into will add to an already difficult journey onward (ending, I imagine, in my own private Golgotha). I am exhausted, both mentally and physically. So I beg for all your prayers in my favour, so that I may be sustained by the mercy and power of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour, amen.
I would also like to thank Prof. Feser and his work, and to the numerous commentators here, for their wisdom, insightfulness and grace, that have been nothing less than essential in my journey back to the Church. Which leads me to my final, and parting comment. It is a common objection that the arguments advanced by the likes of Prof. Feser only prove (if they do that much) that God as conceived by classical theists exist, but say nothing about any specific Christian doctrines, much less about the truth of Catholicism. This is indeed true and well known as the arguments were never intended to establish such. On the other hand, and while I was already a Christian when I found this blog, given their importance in my journey back, I hereby authorize Prof. Feser to cite me as an example where the arguments, while not specifically addressing the truth of Catholicism, can, for some people in some specific circumstances, open the way to embrace it.
A Holy and Blessed Easter Sunday to everyone and anyone reading this.
g-rod, congratulations and blessing on you and all of yours. And praise be to God for all of his works, of which the salvation of us poor sinners is not the least. You will be in our prayers.
