Editiones scholasticae is a new German publishing venture devoted to publishing works in Scholastic philosophy, including reprints of works which have long been out of print. Among the first titles announced are reprints of Bernard Wuellner’s two invaluable reference works Dictionary of Scholastic Philosophy and Summary of Scholastic Principles, used copies of which can be expensive and hard to find. A very worthy enterprise!
Interesting, will they be in German only? Dr Feser have read or heard any of the approach to thomism and aristotleansim that Marie-dominique Phillips and his students in the community of st John take? (specifically that in retracing reality but also the articles on the website of the US part of the order)

ReplyDeleteNobody who reads German can be an evil man!
Ha! I said it. I had too.
(That's a Simson's reference)
I downloaded the whole Summa Th and Summa Conta. on my kindle FOR FREE. You can get that on Amazon. Also many more like Chesterton & Belloc. I now have 130 books on it & only paid for 4. The rest were free.
ReplyDeleteProf. Feser, on the Scholastic book front, I picked up Fr. Fagothey's Right and Reason a while back on your recommendation, and it's great as a clear, concise intro to Ethics. Is there a book like it for Metaphysics?
ReplyDeleteHey Doc Feser, have you seen Tree of Life?
ReplyDeleteI'd love to hear a Catholic/Philosopher's view on it.
