The Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D. C. is hosting the Thomistic Circles Symposium on Creation and Modern Science on Saturday, April 14. The speakers are Fr. Nicanor Austriaco, William E. Carroll, and me. I’ll be speaking on the topic “Neuroscience and the Immaterial Aspects of Thought.”
Excellent news! Fr. Nic is superb! (Not that you two other guys are slouches or anything...)
ReplyDeleteWill there be a video recording posted online? Please let us know. Thanks
ReplyDeleteEd you don't do as many posts on politics any more.
ReplyDeleteDo you have any views on Obama and his recent comments on judical review as it pertains to the possibility of the courts striking down Obamacare?
Hear hear, and I'd love to hear your post-libertarian, authentically Catholic views on political econ/economics too.
ReplyDeleteSo do I.
DeleteSuperb! The title reminds me of J. F. Ross...
ReplyDeleteI'd like to know why you're no longer a libertarian as well.
ReplyDeleteHe's basically answered that libertarian question before. I don't want to speak for him or anything, so google "Classical Natural Law Theory, Property Rights, and Taxation" and click on the first link (no idea how to directly link it). It'll download an html.
ReplyDeleteHe doesn't explain explain "why I'm not a libertarian anymore" in that paper, but I think he says a lot in answer to that question.
Pattsce,
ReplyDeleteThanks for that. However I can't read the paper without shelling out $30.
I'm guessing that he feels Natural Law would be in opposition to many libertarian principles such as legal drugs, prostitution, etc.
I'd like to see some debate on that actually.
That's strange. It shouldn't cost you any money at all. Here, try the link directly:
